Monday, June 25, 2007 Summer Time, CD time, Ready for the Road....Whats up everyone...So here it is, almost July, summer is in full swing which usually means relaxing and getting some sun by the pool. But for me the band, its been all work and no play.. We did see a little sun last week when we shot our CD cover photoshoot, but that fun was short lived, and it was back into the mixing studio to finish the album for ya'll.. Last Thursday's show here in LA LA Land, was good, and now its onto New York, New York! Im going to skip all the talking in circles and get right down to the good stuff, and let you guys know whats really going on in The Life Of Riley... The CD is getting mixed and mastered by a great company here in LA right now. Im stoked because the company has done some amazing bands (the Rolling Stones, Snow Patrol, Pink, just to name a few)... The CD photo is done and picked and the CD will be pressed and released in NYC July 26th... For that first week it will be for sale on our website but by August we will have it on ITUNES, and CD Baby,etc.. The Shirts are also being printed right now, I saw the first print saturday... its rad.. Ill give you one hint, it has a gun on it:)... But dont worry, there are five different styles and colors to choose from, so everyone is sure to find one they like.. They will also be released for sale with the CD the week of July 20th. Our New "official" web page Will be up and running by the end of next week, its got some great new pictures of the band, new songs, and all the info you need on us... Plus the Merch Store where you will beable to get your shirts and cd's.... I know many of you have been wondering where the second webcast is, and im sorry its late, but we got a ton of footage from our show and rehearsals last week, so we wanted to make sure to include that... Webcast two will be done and out next week... And last but certainly not least, we are so excited to pack up and head east for a week!! In about three weeks we are headed to NYC for two great shows!! So if your in the hood, ya better come by and say hi!! We will be playing a private show Thursday July 26th, BUT Friday July 27th, 7pm we are playing this really cool place called the LIVING ROOM. Its 18 and up, but if your under age and bring a parent you are fine as well. We really dont know a ton of people in NYC, so all your support in coming would be great and I promise to play my heart out for you.:) After NYC, I have to go directly to Canada to start a cool new movie called "Make it happen". Darrin Grant is directing and it has the same writer as " Step Up".. Its a dance movie that im sure your all going to dig... My Co-Star is a Mary Elizabeth Winstead ( Die Hard, Grindhouse, and Final Destination 3)... To answer the first question everyones been asking, no im not a dancer...thank god..I play a musician/dj at club Ruby's where all the dancing takes place, and of course im "that guy", who befriends the down and out dancer and helps her "make it happen"... Heres a little seceret about the movie.... there's some loven going on;).. So as you can tell its been a crazy summer so far and it doesnt look to be letting up for me.. but thats the way i like it... Make sure to check out the new songs we are slowly putting up on myspace, "Short Story Longer", and "Bang, Bang", they are both two of my favorites off the new album...
